I AM AN ARISTOCRATIC ANIMAL

This collection was started looking at humans’ dual faces in critical but honest perspective viewpoint. We are all having dual faces, in homes, work, neighbors, and Social media, but we ignore the unpleasing truth, and pretend whilst being hypocritical, covering up with idealistic and romantic superficialities. This collection considers the fact that people are just a type of animal in nature, but we see ourselves as aristocratic animals. We crave being better and superior than others creating dual or multiple faces.   

Realization of the image of aristocratic animal has been influenced by dramatic and romantic elements as well as ornamental aesthetics of the Rococo era. In order to create intricate but also modern hand crafted textiles, Heesu developed multiple techniques in Batik, felting, beading, weaving, embroidery and hand machine knitting.
